Kindling my gigantic inner phoenix: a fiery rebirth

Do What You Love text

Spring has reawakened my passion and creativity. It has been a long, gray winter. But blue skies, warmer temperatures, and birds chirping outside make happy! It makes me want to express myself.

And what better way to do that than to start writing again!

Jeanne Kisacky writes about her strategies for restarting after taking a break from writing. It’s a nice list for getting back into the grove after a break.

Reawakening passion

Anaboisis describes coming back to life after dormancy.

It applies to my creative writing endeavors. They have been dormant lately.

I didn’t get around to writing as much as I had planned. Posting earlier about wanting to write more didn’t fire me up as much I thought it might.

Classwork had me writing a lot. Having professors assign topics is motivating academically. I always love learning, so it’s fun to learn new things (or learn about things I might have already learned on my own officially).

Finding inspiration in music

Here’s a song that popped up in my YouTube list one day that I’ve been digging recently, so I figured I would share it with you since I’m going with the flow with my posting here.

Planning for more writing

I am going to write here more. There are some other places I will start contributing to also. I haven’t written there for a while. I spent a lot of time writing during the pandemic. However, I probably spent too much time reading about the mechanics of writing and not writing enough that it became tough to get inspired. I do my best work if I just do it, rather than trying to follow tips from randos writing about how to do things online.

It might be my contrarian nature.

More creative energy this spring

I have been working on another project that has fired up my creative side, so I’m going to harness that energy and put more words out into the world. I’m not sure what they will end up being, but sometimes just starting is the key to creativity. The other project is more focused, so it makes it easier since I have a structure to follow. But I love being able to just go with the flow and see what happens when I start typing over here!

Mastodon as inspiration

Reading people’s contributions to is an inspiration. Writing small, bite sized “toots” is always fun. I always find inspiration from reading all of the contributions fellow Mastodon users make daily.
